Estimating Support

What we can help with:

With 25yrs+ hands-on experience in the domestic landscaping industry and in-house experience of having completed over 5000 site visit / quotations, we know only too well some of the challenges involved in the quotation process. This service is designed to take some of the desk work off your plate, particularly when you’re busy on site.

• Detailed materials take-offs
  Based on your site notes and measurements, (merchant-ready quantities, sensible rounding, bulk bag options, etc.)
• Clear, client-ready written quotations
  Ready for you to edit if necessary and send straight out
• Optional 2D sketches / layout drawings
  Simple plan layouts, patio/path geometry, sleeper beds, deck framing diagrams — useful both for your own clarity and for clients who respond better to visuals

This isn’t about telling you how to price jobs or how to build them — you keep full control over labour rates, margins and construction methods. It’s simply about reducing the time spent measuring, typing, double-checking quantities and writing quotes.

You’d send over:

• your site notes (and rough sketches if you have them)
• photos if helpful
• any preferences you already have for build-ups or materials

We’d return:

A clean materials take-off
A structured quotation draft

Cost wise, the combined materials take-off & quotation text would start at as little as £25 / job for projects up to £10k value, £35 / job for £10k – £20k projects & rising sensibly for higher value projects.

We are confident at these low cost values, this will prove beneficial for a range of contractors, from those in their early business life, to those transitioning into more landscaping projects and for experienced, long term businesses who simply would like to free up time.

Although we’ve limited this service to a materials take-off only, we’re very open to a collaboration where we get to understand your individual labour / plant / waste removal set up as well, so that we can provide a full breakdown of all the elements required for a particular project.

With in-house experience of having completed over 5000 site visits / quotations for domestic client landscaping projects, we’re thoroughly familiar with the process involved, in winning those jobs!

Sketch & Technical Plans

We know from many years of experience, that a “freebie” or low cost sketch plan / design accompanying a quotation, greatly raises the chances of securing the job. It demonstrates a keen interest in the project to a potential client, avoids contractual uncertainty & disputes and also greatly assists in the build process when on site. Some contractors are not comfortable producing sketch plans, but more often, it’s simply a case of not having enough time to do it.

That’s we’re we come in!

We can provide:

• Scaled layout drawings
• 3D concept visualisations
• Construction details where required
• Client-facing presentation materials

You’d send over:

• your site notes (and rough sketches if you have them)
• photos if helpful

We’d return:

A sketch plan, 3D visual or detail drawing at your request.

Plans / sketches are priced on a job by job basis & are priced at a level where you’d often be very comfortable presenting them as a “freebie” with your quote. This is especially true if you want us to simply provide a sketch layout of a proposed patio, deck, path, etc. Honestly, we’re very familiar with that scenario, so don’t hold back if you think the task is too small – it won’t be! We can keep the drawings completely free of our business identity, (plain paper designs), & even incorporate your own company logo / details as well if you wish.

Build-Ready Documentation

Similar to the sketch &technical plans, this service might be specifically requested by yourself to aid in the construction of a project already secured. It could be a deck framing diagram to aid in the construction phase, cross-sections of retaining structures, site layout plans, paving pattern layouts, etc. Basically anything you feel would benefit you and your team in the professional build of the landscaping project you’re undertaking.

• Material specification guidance
• Sequenced plans for efficient execution

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED

To maintain scope clarity:

• On-site project management
• Direct procurement of materials
• Client liaison or contract management
