Grounded Landscape Studio provides garden design services in Somerset & parts of neighbouring Devon & Dorset. It represents over 25 years of hands-on landscaping experience combined with formal civil engineering training. Every garden is approached from the perspective of someone who has not only designed projects, but physically constructed them. That practical foundation shapes every decision — from layout planning and level transitions to detailing, material selection, and sequencing.

Design proposals are developed to be:

We can use our extensive, hands on knowledge, gained over 25+ years, to help with that. We can make sure that when you’re ready to approach contractors for competitive quotations, they are all pricing on a like-for-like basis, with the project clearly defined. We can also use our experience, to suggest options for you that may improve the aesthetics, maximise your budget & highlight material choices you haven’t considered.

Core Garden Design

For structured redesign of a domestic garden.
We thoroughly enjoy designing gardens that are beautiful, functional, buildable & withing budget. So often we’ve witnessed designs that look nice, but are way over the agreed budget, use inappropriate materials or are just difficult to construct. Our extensive experience aims to avoid those issues & help you to build the garden you deserve.

Includes:

• Site visit
• Measured survey
• Concept layout
• Detailed scaled plan + 3D visuals
• Material specification guidance
• Budget direction

Delivery & Process Notes:

• Work begins once deposit is received
• One structured revision round included
• Typical completion: 2–3 weeks from commencement

Premium Garden Design

(£1,500 – £3,500 typically – can be higher, depending on scope)

For larger or more complex domestic projects.
The larger & more complex a garden project becomes, the more
important it is to get the construction details correct & make
informed material choices. Knowing intimately how a garden is
constructed & what labour / machinery is required, greatly helps
us advise & design a garden that’s efficient in its use of labour &
material resources, to achieve the best result possible.

Includes:

• Site visit and measured survey (Somerset)
• Concept design development
• Detailed scaled plans + 3D visuals
• Construction detailing where required
• Material specification guidance
• Budget structure advice
• Ongoing technical clarification during build

Delivery & Process Notes:

• Work begins once scope is agreed and deposit is received
• One structured revision round included; additional revisions charged separately
• Typical completion: 3–4 weeks from commencement
